Married At First Sight alum Jade Pywell recently faced a distressing incident when her car was stolen by a teenager, who not only took the vehicle but also filmed himself enjoying a joyride and shared it on social media. The whole experience left Pywell stunned and frustrated.
The saga began last week when an intruder reportedly broke into the couple’s Gold Coast residence and made off with the keys to Pywell’s Chery Omoda. Recounting the unsettling discovery, Pywell shared,
“I walked out the front and my car was gone.”
Despite being known for her appearance on MAFS alongside husband Ridge Barredo last year, Pywell found herself embroiled in this unexpected drama. Their rare success story on the show seemed distant as they grappled with this real-life theft.
After alerting the Queensland Police about the theft, Pywell turned to social media to shed light on what had happened. To her surprise, a friend messaged her claiming that her car had also been stolen by the same individual – a local teenager who seemed to have a penchant for flaunting his illicit activities online.
According to Pywell, her friend even sent her footage of the culprit driving various stolen cars, including hers. The betrayal and violation felt by Pywell were palpable as she realized that someone was brazenly parading around in what rightfully belonged to her.
In a daring move straight out of a movie scene, an anonymous number texted Pywell an address where she could find her stolen car. With Barredo by her side, she ventured to this undisclosed location armed with a spare key and managed to reclaim their missing vehicle.
However, despite providing authorities with critical evidence such as videos shared on social media implicating the alleged thief, Pywell was disheartened when told it wasn’t sufficient proof for police action. Queensland Police acknowledged ongoing investigations into multiple items pilfered during the burglary at Pimpama.
While relieved to have retrieved their car through their own sleuthing efforts, other valuables still remain unaccounted for following this harrowing ordeal faced by Jade Pywell against an audacious teenage perpetrator.
